Is stress affecting the quality of your daily life?
Are you struggling to juggle the demands of work, family, relationships and personal well-being? Do you often find yourself
overwhelmed by stress, struggling to create an optimal work-life, parenting-life, relationships-life balance? Do you often experience a dysregulated nervous system?
The good news is you are not alone. You are in the right place. There is available evidence on the causes, pathways, impact and management of stress in the Mind, Body and Brain, 3 very different things. There are psychologists, neuroscientists, biologists and many more sectors developing new learning on the impact on our bodies and lives. As Prof Johnathan Haidt (Yale, 2024) points out in his recent publication, we are the Anxious Generation.
Welcome. I am Dr Kavita Abraham-Dowsing. I have a PhD in Psychology from the London School of Economics, where I hold a
visiting fellowship in Behavioural Psychology. Over the last 30 years I have worked in-house in senior leadership roles with the BBC, consulting and international development, and externally with clients like Bloomberg, Girls not Brides, NHS and Google. I particularly love working with entrepreneurs and smaller SME’s, to help their people tackle some of life’s most pressing challenges from managing work stress to improving career satisfaction, family dynamics and inter -personal relationships.
What can you expect
At the Stress Clinic, I begin with a holistic human centred approach. I specialise in helping individuals like you regain a sense of control, create balance, and regulate your nervous system. Whether you are a parent struggling to support your teenager or an ambitious professional trying to find peace amidst your busy career we begin where you are and find what suits you and your life. I integrate evidence-based tools, strategies and hacks that enable you to create meaningful, lasting, sustainable change. I focus on your complete system, from work and family relationships to personal health helping you to have a more regulated nervous system. Experience and expertise: With years of experience working with individuals from all walks of lives of life, and over 70 countries, I understand the pressure of balancing family, career and the ever-changing self. I have a hugely varied toolkit which I explore with my clients to see what works best of them in their lives. This includes talk therapies, bodywork, breathwork and meditation/mindfulness.
A safe, nonjudgmental, regulated space: I am fully certified, regulated, insured and supervised for this work. I also have a network of trusted colleagues working in this space whom I can refer you onto based on needs. My approach is human-centred and relational. I am passionate about creating a confidential, safe space where you can express and explore your challenges without fear of judgement.
Sustainable results and behaviour change: You won’t learn the theory of how to manage stress. Together we will create personalised strategies, bespoke to your situation that are practical, realistic and tailored to your needs. You will be equipped with tools and strategies that allow you to maintain balance and thrive in di(erent areas of your life.

“I want to say a proper thank you for the great impact you have made on my whole life. Our work together has had a fundamental
impact on how I deal with the overwhelm of my everyday life. I am so greatful, everyday when I put something I learnt into practice,
something you taught me about work, my children and my self. Your work has made such a great impression on my perspective on
my ability to cope with and enjoy my life. Thank you and God bless you Kavita.”
(Director of Clinical Governance, NHS, UK. Single mother of 3 teenage children).
“I found it very useful that our work on the stress system did not fall into one category of my career, or my relationships with my
family, my parents, in-laws, spouse and children. Working with all of my Self was very helpful for me to understand how all these
aspects of myself flow into one another. Being able to unpick some of the complexity from a multidimensional standpoint helped me
understand issues which on the surface felt unconnected but on closer inspection I understand as the fabric of who I am. I now
understand this as the foundation of my lens for my decisions, choices across the board, including how I manage stress. This work
has really changed the way I approach my day at work and at home”.
